The RN to BSN program is a post licensure bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) degree completion program for Registered Nurses who hold a current nursing license and have completed a diploma or associate degree nursing program.

The program’s curriculum builds upon knowledge and competencies obtained during pre-licensure nursing education and experiences as a practicing RN by providing a more in-depth study of the physical and social sciences, humanities, nursing research, nursing leadership and management, and community health nursing. One of the goals of the RN to BSN Program is to increase the students’ understanding of the many social, cultural, economic and political issues that impact patients and influence healthcare.

Overall job opportunities for registered nurses are expected to be excellent, but may vary by employment and geographic setting. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook, employment opportunities as a Registered Nurse are expected to grow by 6% between 2022 to 2032 with an average salary citied as $86,070 (US Department of Labor, 2024). Further, education at the baccalaureate level may enable graduates to seek leadership positions that would not be available at the associate or diploma level.
